Pass Plus

Pass Plus is a government lead scheme designed by DVSA, now part of DVSA with the help of vehicle insurance and driving instruction Industries for those drivers who want to develop the attitude and skills that are essential for ‘Safe Driving For Life’.

Here at iZi Driving Academy, our aim of pass plus training is to improve driving skills and knowledge in areas where a new driver may have limited experience and also to make them safer drivers on the roads.

Pass Plus is a practical training course that requires at least six hours of training. It can be longer if you and your instructor agree that further training is needed. To be able to take part in this course you must have passed your driving test and choose Pass Plus registered driving instructor.

The best thing is that your driving instructor will assess you throughout the course and there is no test at the end of the course. You will receive a certificate upon satisfactory completion of the course.

What is covered in the Pass Plus Course?

The Pass Plus course covers six compulsory modules which include

1. Town Driving

Learning to drive on busy roads can be a valuable experience. It prepares you for various driving conditions and gives you the confidence to deal with queuing traffic, spiral roundabouts, complicated junctions, and challenging road users.

2. All-Weather Driving

In this module, we will cover all aspects of driving in different weather conditions whether its rain, snow, fog, or bright sunlight.

We will provide you with the key guidance about skidding, safe distancing, progression, and positioning.

3. Driving on Country Roads

Country roads are often narrow, winding, and dark. There is a chance you could suddenly come across a sharp bend, a tractor, farm animals, cyclists, or pedestrians on the road. We will help you with planning, keeping principles of early vision, and early decisions in mind.

4. Night Driving

Night Driving comes with its own hazards. The correct use of lights anticipation and awareness of other road users is very important. We will teach you how to deal with dark roads, poor visibility, and dazzling lights.

5. Dual Carriage-way Driving

Dual Carriage-ways are high-speed, multi-lane roads. They require particular driving skills like correct judgment, effective observation, and lane discipline to deal with these kinds of roads.

6. Motorway Driving

Learning to drive on motorways is an essential skill for any driver to be able to complete longer journeys timely and safely. You will be able to gain practical knowledge of motorway layouts, rules and regulations, signs, and lane markings.
